Game Day 2/2/2013

For those who know internet memes, I think you would appreciate that just a little bit. For those who don't, it should be pretty straight forward. Anyways we showed some grit last night, that was a great play by Scott Allen to circle the net and just throw it at the net. And again Blake Tatchell was big for us, he went 1-1-2 and was +2 for the night. I think our focus should be bringing in some guys that can compliment Blake for the future. For a good part of the game it was up and down hockey, which is great for the fans and our team looks pretty solid skating around trying to make something good happen. There were some positives but we need them consistently. CC did take over the OT around the second minute mark, but we were able to keep them off the board. Interesting to see if Kamal gets the nod again, he played very solid in my eyes. But did he play good enough for tonight's game? I don't know.

Round-Up

Things to look out for
• Junior Matt Bailey needs one more assist for his 10th of the season, and one more goal for his season's 5th
• Junior Jordan Kwas has four Power Play goals, nobody else has more than one this season
• Sophomore Kory Roy has yet to register his first collegiate goal, 0-9-9 in 45 GP
• Matt Bailey is one goal away from his career 25th goal
• Senior Alex Gellert needs two more assists for his career 25th
• Sophomore Scott Allen needs two more points to amass 25 career points
• Junior Chris Kamal needs to see action tonight to play in his 50th career game
• The line of Blake Tatchell, Scott Allen, and Jordan Kwas were responsible for all the points last night 2-2-4
• Jordan Kwas has totals of 1-6-7 in 9 games against the Tigers

  1. The way Kamal played last night he deserves the start again tonight. The guys played with a lot of energy and the same effort tonight will be rewarded.
The tachel line is going good and if we can get some scoring out of the other lines we should be setting ourselves up pretty good for the playoffs. All the freshmen, Trupp, Williams, Leask, Murphy and Sevalrud are contributing and should only get better. Looks like a pretty good class to me. I'd like to see Matyas get his feet wet in net.
    Go Seawolves!!!!

  2. We have some solid players coming in next season, I can see one or two being able to contribute like Tatchell is this year. Hopefully Tatchell sticks around.

  3. If you missed Saturday nights game you really missed out. The Alaska Youth Academy had 135??? guys sitting in the yellow seats on the NW side and they rocked the joint. The team and the crowd fed off them and it was an atmosphere unlike any in the past ten years. Coordinated cheers, foot stomping and glass pounding energy. If I could afford it I'd have em at every game and also buy em a hotdog. Please contact the powers that be and see if we can get them to all our games.
Alaska Youth Academy, you rocked the joint!!! Thank you
    Go Seawolves!!!

  5. Sounds like it was a blast, I'm sorry I wasn't able to make either game! Anyways, sounds like our guys are starting to finally get into a rhythm even though the season is almost over. Hopefully the seawolves can go out with some fireworks at the end of the season with this new found energy.

    Go Seawolves!

  6. Anon @ 10:51 - You are so right that the Alaska Youth Military had that place rocking!! The atmosphere in the building was like the "good old days" of the Seawolves and you could tell the team loved it.

We didn't get a win, but everyone still had a blast.

It was nice bonus walking out to 36 degree temps at almost 10:pm too. ;0)
