Game Day 2/1/2013

Well we face off this week against a struggling Colorado College team. If we wanna escape this season with more than one win in league play, this might be our best opportunity. I'm hoping for at least one point out of this weekend, we are now six points behind Michigan Tech and Bemidji State and we have played one more league series than the both of them. If the Hockey Gods are kind to us, we would somehow put up a fight for 11th place. But much like Bigfoot, I want to believe but just do not think that the creature could escape us thus far.

This weekend we are provided with:

I think in years past, a majority of the times attendance was actually down when they have done this or very similar promotions. Whether that be because it's near the end of the season and people realize just how bad we can be or whatever I will start keeping note of the attendance with this promotion. Also, there might be some processing fees from Ticketmaster, so be forewarned. UAA Students should be able to get free parking via a tip from Sherry, thank you for the heads up! Also; first 1,000 fans there get a Cinch Bag, or as I like to call them, gangsta backpacks. You can thank Wells Fargo for them. But if you can take advantage of this, go ahead. (I'm sure the sodas alone take up 20-30 dollars of the "$ 99") Link here.

Round-Ups

• Senior Alex Gellert needs two more assists for his career 25th
• Scott Allen needs three more points to amass 25 career points

• Their Penalty Kill is barely better than ours 76.3% to our 73.4%

  1. We were definitely the better team in the 1st 3rd and OT periods. We were beating them to the puck and keeping good pressure in the offensive zone. With the 2nd period being the exception it was an up and down very fast paced game. Enjoyable to watch even though the officiating STUNK. Have no idea how the ref at the red line made his checking from behind call when it was clearly a legal check from the side. Too hard you say? Then the most would be a boarding not checking from behind call. The guys are also due credit for their tenacity coming back from 2/1 to tie it up.
If we have the same effort tonight it's a win for sure.
    Go Seawolves!!!!
